YTB: Why "Your Travel Business" Is On A Flight To Nowhere.

My name is Jayson and Thank You for visiting my blog.  Prior to getting started online I was a contract truck driver.  When the economy started to dip I was one of the first to take the hit.  I lost my career, my self confidence and almost my family's home.  I was forced to do something else and with no sales experience, no confidence and nothing else to fall back on I turned to my old desktop computer to see if I could make a buck.  I heard of it being done all around me but I never believed it was possible.  After trying hundreds of programs, both very good and very bad, I have learned the hard way on how to really make money online and I'm here to help you make the right choice for your hard earned cash.

Why has YTB taken a nose dive in the Network Marketing World?

YTB stands for "Your Travel Biz".  It saw a trend with the baby boomers getting ready to retire and we all know that baby boomers love to travel so they started at just the right time.  YTB was growing at a rapid rate in 2007.  The business went from having 62,000 reps in October of 2006 to over 150,000 by February of 2007.  The concept of having your own "Expedia or Orbitz" was very interesting and being able to get paid whenever someone booked travel on your personal website was unbelievable.  Travel Cheap + Earn Money
= Major Hook.

Boomers were lining up by the thousands to sign up for their own travel business and the hype that the professional salesman YTB recruited to do their dirty work was working as planned.  You see when a company needs to get off the ground they make "deals" with "professionals" to go out and recruit everyone in site.  "Deals" are really considered marketing or an investment back into the company.  What I mean is a "professional" comes along and a company will offer them first shot at getting in the company, a different and better compensation plan than what others will get and usually a bank roll of cash to go out and market and recruit for them.  That's why you here stories like "I just got in last month and I'm making $10,000/month already.  Not to mention I'm just an average Joe just like you".  They fail to say that they are a professional recruiter and that they got financial backing from the company.

This kind of non-sense goes on all the time.  I guess you can say that it's just part of business.  Just another way to market and expose your great product or service.  And maybe it is.  But Hyping people up with "rags to riches" stories does nothing for them when they don't have the money to promote their new opportunity or the years of knowledge and skill that a professional has in their aresenal.

YTB was a great concept at first but charging people $50/month for a website that would make them $200 in commission for the YEAR is not a good business model.  Yes I know you have the referral commission of getting people started in their own business but that obviously doesn't go to far.  Give people a good, solid business model with a great product that they can benefit from without having to recruit people into the business and you will have long lasting business relationships.

Network Marketing Works!  But don't get caught up into the latest greatest opportunity because it takes desire, knowledge and skill to build anything worth while.  If your looking to benefit from the product yourself and want to make a little and then a little more and then a little more and eventually replace your take home pay than keep in mind it takes money for marketing, desire to keep pressing ahead and skill to increase and maximize your profits.
